My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. While the rooms were in need of updating and lacked some essentials like soap and shower gel, they were surprisingly spacious for my larger dog. The views from the back of the hotel left much to be desired, with scaffolding on one side and a pigeon-infested courtyard on the other. However, the rooms seemed less worn than expected.

During my stay, the hotel offered decent rooms on our first visit and excellent ones later. They had all the usual features but nothing extraordinary. However, our room faced the back over the kitchen or staff entrance. The service was top-notch, with excellent and very helpful staff at all times. The location had some good history and was friendly, but the room we stayed in was not up to par. Dining was a mix of enjoyable meals and some disappointments.
